The core component of lithium batteries is the cell, and the quality of the cell also directly affects the overall performance of the battery. In the market, cells are divided into A-grade, B-grade, and C-grade according to quality.
A-grade cells are produced by the cell factory according to the order requirements of the battery production factory, strictly in accordance with production capacity and technical standards. During the manufacturing process, a series of fine process steps will be passed, and the battery finally delivered to the customer will fully meet the capacity, size and other parameters specified in the order.
The production of B-grade cells is mainly due to the inevitable existence of a certain proportion of defective products in the production process. These defective products have no obvious defects in performance, and may only have slight deviations in capacity or size. Therefore, B-grade cells will be cheaper than A-grade cells in price, and sometimes they will be sold directly by the manufacturer, but the capacity will be slightly lower when marked. In addition, if A-grade cells are stored in the warehouse for too long and have not been shipped for more than 3-6 months, they may also be downgraded to B-grade cells.
C-grade batteries are B-grade batteries that have been stored for a longer time. Usually, B-grade batteries that have not been shipped for more than 8 months will be classified as C-grade batteries. Due to long-term storage, C-grade batteries may have problems such as swelling, leakage, and short circuit. Their safety is poor, and their performance will drop significantly after several cycles of charging. Therefore, when buying a battery, if you find that the battery life is significantly shortened, it is very likely that you have used C-grade batteries.
In general, A-grade batteries are high-quality products that meet technical requirements in all aspects; B-grade batteries have slight flaws in some parameters, but the performance is still acceptable; and C-grade batteries have greater safety risks and performance problems. For users who pursue high quality and high performance, choosing A-grade batteries is undoubtedly a wiser choice.
